4th edition of the WACAVAR Workshop: September 30 to October 02, 2025

The 4th edition of the “West African Coastal Zones – Mapping Vulnerability, Adaptability and Resilience in a Changing Climate” (WACA-VAR) workshop kicked off today, September 30, 2025, in Grand Bassam (Côte d’Ivoire). Until Thursday, October 02, 2025, the fifty participants will discuss issues relating to (i) improving knowledge of the current and future vulnerability of the coasts of West and Central Africa, (ii) providing new data, information and tools that will be useful to investors, local and regional stakeholders (including coastal communities) and (iii) developing the capacities of local and regional stakeholders (including post-graduate students (i.e. Masters, PhDs and post-docs) through the training of current managers, future experts on the coasts of Central and West Africa and young researchers.
